Fed: Detention policy starting to hurt govt in polls: Morgan
The federal government's hardline stance on illegal immigrants is starting to hurtit in at least one opinion poll.
The latest Morgan poll found support for the government down three points, giving Labora five-point lead on a two-party preferred basis.
The poll was taken immediately after the South Australian state election was called,and covered the period of unrest at the Woomera detention centre.
It also took in the resignation of key immigration adviser NEVILLE ROACH over the government'shandling of the detainee issue.
