As a dozen people, including Mayor Washington, squeezed intohis kitchen on the Far South Side, Walker poured a glass of waterfrom the faucet.
"It tasted real good," Walker said after sipping the water andending a struggle that began during the John F. Kennedyadministration.
For the first time since Walker moved into 706 E. 134th Pl. in1961, his and his neighbors' homes have been connected to the city'swater and sewer system.
